Ingredients

  • 700 gms koosa / Chappan Kaddu
  • 2 Green Chillies / Hari Mirch
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli powder / Laal mirch powder
  • 3/4 tsp Coriander Powder / Dhaniya Powder
  • 1/3 tsp Turmeric Powder / Haldi Powder
  • to taste Salt / Namak
  • 1.5 tsp Lemon Juice / Nimbu Ka Ras
  • 4 tbsp Fresh Coriander / Cilantro / Hara Dhaniya chopped
  • 3 tbsp Cooking Oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / Sabut Jeera
  • pinch Asafoetida / Hing powder
  • 1/2 cup Water / Paani
  • 1 Medium Tomato chopped

Instructions

  • Wash and peel koosa and chop into medium size pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. when cumin start to crackle add asafoetida and green chilies.
  • Now add the chopped tomato and stir for a minute.
  • Add turmeric ,chopped koosa and salt and mix well.
  • Now add 1/2 cup water and cover and cook till they are almost done.dont over cook.
  • Now add coriander powder and chili flakes and mix, cover and cook till done.
  • Now add lemon juice and fresh coriander and mix gently.
  • Serve hot with roti ,paratha or any bread of your choice.
