Aloo ki katli

- 4 medium Potatoes / Aloo
- 2 medium tomato Pureed
- 2 Green chili/hari mirch mildly spiced
- to taste Salt / Namak
- 1 tsp Chili flakes /Kuti hui laal mirch
- 4 tbsp Cooking Oil
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / Sabut Jeera
- 1/3 tsp Asafoetida / Hing powder
- handful Fresh Coriander / Cilantro / Hara Dhaniya
- 1 tsp Ghee/Clarified Butter optional
Peel the potatoes and slice into medium thick circles (thicker than potato chips)
Heat oil in a heavy and wide flat bottom pan and add cumin seeds and asafoetida.
After few seconds add the potato slices, mix and saute on medium heat.
Add salt and cook till they are 75% done, keep stirring gently , else the potato pieces can break
Now add the tomato puree , chopped green chilies, chili flakes and 1/4 cup water saute for a minute.
Cover with a lid and cook till done.(If you want more gravy then add more water )
Add freshly chopped coriander and one tsp ghee and mix.
Serve with your favourite bread or rice.
