- 600 gm Cabbage / Patta Gobhi
- 4 medium Potatoes / Aloo 400 gm
- 3 medium Tomatoes / Tamatar
- 2 Green Chillies / Hari Mirch
- 1 tsp Ginger / Adrak
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder / Haldi Powder
- 1 tsp Kashmiri Chili powder
- 1 tsp Red Chilli powder / Laal mirch powder
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder / Dhaniya Powder
- pinch Garam Masala Powder
- pinch Sugar / Chini
- 1/4 cup Fresh Coriander / Cilantro / Hara Dhaniya
- 1/3 cup Green Peas / Hari Matar optional
tempering/ tadka
- 4 tbsp Cooking Oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds / Rai *
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds / Sabut Jeera
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida / Hing powder
- 1 Bay Leaves / Tej Patta
Wash and chop potatoes into big pieces and wash and chop the cabbage.
In the pressure cook add 1/2 tsp salt and 1 cup water and then add the chopped cabbage and on top of it place the potato pieces and pressure cook for 3 whistles on high heat
In a separate pan add mustard oil and then add cumin seeds ,bay leaf, 1 black cardamom, chopped green chili and asafoetida.
Now add chopped tomato ,green peas ginger and salt and cook till tomato become soft.
Add all the dry masala powders and saute and then add 1/2 cup water from the pressure cooker.(don't add all the water from the cooker)
Mix it and then add the boiled vegetables only. mix, cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes on medium to low heat.
Add fresh coriander and serve with roti, paratha or rice.
