- 2 cup French beans
- 3/4 cup Bengal gram /chana daal
- 2 Green chili/hari mirch chopped
- 1 Tomatoes / Tamatar chopped
- 1 Lemons / Nimbu
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder / Haldi Powder
- 1 tsp Red Chilli powder / Laal mirch powder
- to taste Salt / Namak
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder / Dhaniya Powder
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / Sabut Jeera
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida / Hing powder
- 4 tbsp Cooking Oil
- 1 tsp Ginger / Adrak chopped
Wash the beans ,trim the edges and chop into desired shape of your choice.
Wash the daal and soak for 2 hours.
Heat oil in the pan and then add cumin seeds.when cumin start crackling then add asafoetida, green chilies and ginger and stir .
Now add the soaked chana daal , turmeric, little salt and 1/3 cup water , stir well , cover and cook on low heat for 3-4 minutes.
Now open the lid and add the chopped beans,chopped tomato , coriander powder, salt, chili powder and mix.
Cover and cook on low heat till done.
Add some chopped fresh coriander and lemon juice and mix,
Serve with roti or rice and enjoy.
Gluten free-
To make it gluten free , skip adding asafoetida.
