Suhal Aloo

Suhal Aloo- A crispy flaky fried snack served with spicy potato masala

Ingredients

  • 1.25 cup Refined Flour / Maida
  • 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Carom Seeds / Ajwain
  • to taste Salt / Namak

Aloo

  • 4 Potato boiled
  • 1/2 tsp kasoori methi
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli powder / Laal mirch powder
  • 1 tsp Mango powder
  • to taste Salt / Namak
  • 1 TSP Green Chillies / Hari Mirch chopped
  • 4 tbsp fresh coriander/ hara dhaniya chopped
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  • Take a bowl , add refined flour, oil, ajwain and salt and mix it well.
  • Now add water gradually and make a stiff dough, cover and rest for 10 minutes.
  • Make equal size balls from the dough and roll each ball to make a medium thick poori and prick it using a fork.
  • Now cut the poori in four parts to make four triangle pieces.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan and deep fry the pieces on medium heat till golden and crisp.
  • Drain on a tissue napkin to absorb the extra oil.

Aloo

  • Peel the boiled potato and chop into small pieces.
  • Add all the dry spices, green chili and fresh coriander , lemon juice and mix well.
  • Serve these spicy masala potatoes with suhal.
  • Enjoy suhal aloo with some chutney and chai !
