Mohabbat ka sharbat- a refreshing summer drink made with milk , water melon and rose syrup
Mohabbat ka sharbat is a famous beverage specially popular during summer season . It is originated near the area of Jama masjid of old Delhi. The meaning of Mohabbat ka sharbat means’ love drink. It is made by combing chilled milk, rose syrup, water melon, sugar, ice cubes and rose petals.
It is most popular during the time of Ramadan and Eid. Many stalls on road side sells this sharbat around jam masjid. This drink is delicious , refreshing for the summer heat and quite economical in price. IIt is quite thin as compared to the Punjabi style dahi ki lassi.
This drink is very easy to make and need just few basic ingredients to make. Though the recipe is quite simple to follow but you can make your variations-
Variations-
- You can add some vanilla ice cream to make it thick and rich.
- Can add some falooda to make it more interesting.
- Some soaked sabja seeds and gond katira can also be added in it to make it more healthier.
- You can top it with some chopped nuts or whipped cream
- Can make it vegan by using plant milk.
- Instead of rooh afza you can use any rose syrup or just rose essence.

Mohabbat Ka Sharbat | Watermelon Milk Sharbat
Mohabbat ka sharbat- a refreshing summer drink made with milk and rose syrup
Ingredients
- 2.5 cup Whole Milk / Doodh
- 1/4 cup Sugar / Chini
- 3 tbsp Rooh Afza
- 1 cup Watermelon Juice
- 1/2 cup Watermelon cubes Chopped
- 1 cup Water / Paani chilled
- 1 cup Ice cubes
- 2 tbsp Basil Seeds/ Sabja Seeds optional
- few Dried rose petals to garnish
Instructions
- In a big bowl add the full fat chilled milk.
- Now add sugar and the rooh afza syrup and mix well.
- Now add soaked sabja seeds (optional), watermelon juice, chopped watermelon cubes and mix well.
- Add ice cubes , stir well. taste and adjust by adding some rooh afza if needed.
- Serve chilled in glasses , garnish with few watermelon pieces or rose petals.
