Kharbooje Ka Panna – A Summer Special Refreshing Dessert Made with Musk Melon

Kharbooja / Gidra /Kharbooj /or Shakar Teti in Gujarati, is the name for summer melons. During the summer season, we get very good-quality melons, watermelons, cucumbers, kakdi, and other fruits that have a high water content.

Melons have many health benefits. They are not only nourishing and refreshing but are also rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Melons are composed of 90% water, making them excellent natural hydrators. They also contain essential electrolytes that help maintain the body’s fluid balance.

Rich in Vitamins A, B, and C, melons promote healthy skin and help reduce the signs of ageing. They are also a good source of fiber, which regulates bowel movements and helps prevent constipation. In addition, melons support heart health and help detoxify the body.

How To Make Kharbooje Ka Panna

You can make Kharbooje Ka Panna using any variety of sweet melon, such as cantaloupe, honeydew, muskmelon, canary melon, or any other sweet melon.

Kharbooje Ka Panna is one of the easiest and most refreshing summer desserts you can make. It requires just a few ingredients and is perfect for enjoying after dinner, as an evening snack, or whenever you’re craving something light and cooling.

Cut the melon in half and scoop out all the seeds. Peel the skin and cut the melon into wedges. Chop the wedges into small pieces and transfer them to a serving bowl.

Add sugar to taste, along with cardamom powder and a pinch of black pepper powder. Mix everything gently until the melon pieces are evenly coated.

Refrigerate for a few hours until well chilled. Serve cold whenever required. This refreshing dessert stays fresh in the refrigerator for 2–3 days.

How to use the peel and seeds of the melons-

After using the pulp we can also use the peel and seeds of the melons .I thinly slice the melon peels and sun dry them for few days and then deep fry them in hot oil and sprinkle salt and chili over them .They taste like fried kachris.

you can grind the melon seeds with some water and sugar and then strain it with a sieve , add few ice cubes and a refreshing drink will be ready to enjoy. OR you can sun dry the seeds and peel them and use them to make curry base.
