Palak cheese balls,Stuffed Spinach and Cheese Balls

Palak cheese balls-Deep fried spinach and gram flour balls stuffed with spice and cheese

cheese and spinach balls

INGREDIENTS-
prep time-5 min
cooking time-20 min
serve-4

  • Gram flour /Besan-1/2 cup
  • Chopped spinach-1.5 cup
  • Chopped green chilies-1 tsp
  • Lemon juice-1/2 tsp
  • Water-1/2 cup
  • Turmeric-1/8 tsp
  • Salt-1/2 tsp
  • Oil-1 tbsp 

STUFFING-

  • Grated cottage cheese/paneer-1/2 cup
  • Mozzarella cheese-2 tbsp
  • Chopped green chilies-1 tsp
  • Chopped raisins-1 tsp
  • Chili flakes -1/2 tsp
  • Salt-1/4 tsp

PROCEDURE-

  1. In a bowl add gram flour,water,lemon juice,turmeric,oil and salt and blend well with a hand blendar.
  2. Add this mixture in a nonstick pan and cook on low flame for approx 2-3 minutes till it thickens.
  3. Switch off the gas and wait till mixture cool down a bit and become lukewarm and easy to handle.
  4. Now mix in the chopped spinach and green chilies and mash well and then make round balls with greased hands.
  5. In a bowl mix all the the ingredients for stuffing.
  6. Flatten the balls and stuff each with 1 tsp of stuffing mixture,close the balls properly.
  7. Deep fry in hot oil till golden in colour.
  8. Drain on a paper napkin and serve hot.

Serving suggestions-serve with a tangy sauce or mint chutney
