Tuvar Daal Khichdi- A simple khichdi of Rice and lentil

Tuvar Daal Khichdi -During winters I often make khichdi as it is quick to make and don’t need too many side dishes to serve with ,just a bowl of curd and papad goes well with any type of khichdi . Arhar daal Khichdi is my favorite comfort food and my family also likes it so I make it often.

Khichdi can be made with any daal but the texture and thickness differs according to every ones own preference .It can be dry like pulao ,semi thick, medium thick or can be watery like a soup. This simple tuvar daal / toor daal khichdi is very delicious and so easy to make so I make khichdi once in a week as it is light to digest and a quick and a healthy one pot meal .

      Hi Mitul
Thank you for your comment !I have updated the post please check .
The amount of water depend on the consistency you want to have,I prefer little soft texture khichdi so added 3 cup water but you can add 1.5- 2 cups if you like it medium thick or on drier side.

I am not expert in cooking. but the portion u wrote 1 cup(includes rice and daal) u using total 5 cups right.
        2 to boil
add 3 cups later. Or i am misunderstanding.. i think u are talking about total 3 cup water for i cup of rice and daal. right. but let me tell u i do love ur style khichdi.
        Thanx.

Yes that is indeed right. 2 cups to boil – and 3 cups later to make it the right consistency.
